FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions)

About Beginning Development

We are marketing people and don’t have a clue about what we need or should have. Can you help us?
This is typical of some of our prospective clients' phone calls. It’s not a problem, and we are happy to give you our thoughts and ideas and help you architect a plan.
What do I do for an install application?
We have a number of installation packages that we can recommend—from the most expensive to the least expensive—and have tried them all. We can certainly give you our expertise in that area and our recommendation. We currently boast of a company we use that is located in Australia; not only are they the best in support that we have found, but also the best economically.
Do I want a toolbar but need a BHO, or vice versa?
Now that’s an odd statement isn’t it? We often get a telephone call from someone who believes they want and need a toolbar and instead are really referring to and/or needing a BHO, or vice versa. We will gladly talk with you about your needs and give you some direction and recommendations based on our experience.
Okay, so I’m getting a toolbar developed. What about the buttons? Who does the artwork?
Good questions and ones we ask right away. Either you can do it, or we can take care of it for you. While we do not have graphic artists in–house, we have several graphic artists with whom we work that specialize in toolbar buttons and do many of our icons. problem. In fact, we have put together an informal graphics document if that is the case. The document will explain exactly what that graphics person will need to know that we are happy to share this with you after your proposal is in hand and before we begin your project. Be aware that it’s quite an art doing very small icons for buttons, you wouldn't perhaps think so but believe us—it is!. So, we’ve got you covered one way or the other.
How do I put together a specifications or requirements document? Can you help?
We often help our clients put together a specifications document and have put together a document (located on our website) listing some of the items that we will need to know. Once we have these basic questions answered, we can further discuss your requirements and put together a solid proposal and accurate fixed price quote for your project. This requirements (specifications) document need not be fancy! See the list of what’s required.
What if I want a code signing certificate? Can you help?
We help our clients with this all the time. We can now offer you the ease of purchasing your digital certificates right from our site. It’s easy and there’s a cost savings for you as well! As it stands presently, we will give you a few recommendations on what has worked well for our clients and on what is the most economical solution for you. We are happy to help you through the entire process.
What else do I need to know?
When it comes to development, that’s what we’re here for! As we begin working with you, we will keep you abreast of all development as it progresses. At times, we will pass on some mini-installs, so you can see how things are shaping up. By doing this, we have found that problems can be anticipated and solved early in the development process. We’ve got you covered and are always all on the same page with development!
What if I find a bug after we’re all done?
We do free bug fixes for a period of sixty days. After this period, we are generally pretty–easy going as far as bug fixing. If it’s a minor bug, no problem, no charge. However, if it is going to take us more than an hour, we’ll discuss it with you first, and then charge you our hourly rate. We stand behind our development. It's as simple as that. We are known for our prompt response to you and support you all the way.
What about multi-platform development consideration?
If you are looking to have multi-platforms developed, we suggest you begin with the major market share market, which, at this time, is Internet Explorer. Then, upon the IE completion, look to move into the next highest market share platform for development, and so forth. We do this type of development so often that we always have the statistics available and are happy to discuss this with you.

About Doing Business with GigaSoft Development®, Inc.

How long have you been in business?
GigaSoft Development®, Inc. has been in business just over the five year mark.
How much IT or application development experience do you possess?
We possess almost twenty-five years of development expertise.
How much will your application cost?
Actually, much less than one would think! We well understand the budgets and needs of a business—especially a small business. After we discuss your desires and development needs, we come up with a game plan. This is derived through a specifications or requirements document. This document will undoubtedly engage us in some questions and answers. However, it is due to this document that we can then put together a solid proposal for you which includes a timeframe and fixed price quotation.
Can you deliver what you boast and tell us?
You bet we can! See our testimonial page, give us a telephone call, or, if you wish, we can put you in contact with some of our clients. References are always available upon your request.
What kind of support can we expect from you?
Let's start with the end—the end of your project that is! Even when we’ve completed your project, you can always count on our excellent support. This is something we are always complimented on. In fact, whether you are a client or not, if you contact us, we will respond promptly to your queries, emails, and telephone calls. We are known for the fact that we answer your telephone calls directly.
Do you offer maintenance and support after the job is done?
Many clients opt to have all their maintenance done by us. We can work out a flexible agreement by the hour, by the month, or on an as–needed basis.
How long will your development take?
Simply put, this all depends upon your needs and drop-dead date. A development project can take anywhere from a couple days, to weeks, or, in some cases, months. Obviously, once we have your requirements (specifications) document in hand and begin conversing on the look and feel you desire for your project, we can then give you a proposal, which will incorporate the time–frame for your project. This allows for a concise and prompt process and puts us all on the same page. While the development is progressing, we will converse and at times send you mini-installs so that problems can be anticipated and solved before your application is complete. We’re in business to accommodate your schedule as well as your possible drop–dead dates.
